Providing solar power energy to the most vulnerable communities to ensure peace and security (especially women in Rweru Sector)

Solar energy relating to Environmental Protection and Management Environmental degradation is characterized by cutting down trees, soil erosion and emitting toxic gases in the atmosphere. This has resulted into global warm which is rapidly becoming a global threat to humanity. The local community is equally affected by this problem mainly because of over dependence on fire wood as a source of fuel. However, solar energy is proving to be alternatively effective compared to other sources of energy in responding to environmental degradation.

In the local community, solar energy is more affordable and environmental friendly. Solar electricity solves the problem of air pollution compared to use of kerosene lamps for domestic lights. This type of electricity reduces the risk of fire out break in houses and provides better light. 110 families of Giticumumvumu village are benefiting from the solar electrification of their homes.
